Expermental REVs

At first glance, it looks like a REV 1.5 but has some dimension changes which I will not elaborate on here.
I flew it for a bit to get my personal impression. You thought the REV 1.5 was nice. This one is as sweet as they come. The precision is super. The floats are super. It even flies in much lighter winds then the REV 1.5 SUL. I was using their short handles thus I could not quickly run it through the tricks I am used to with my 16" long handles.
I do believe this will be an excellent team kite.
Gee, I hope they bring this one out on the market.

Also, what is the benefit to using longer/long handles?

No, it wasn't the B series. It was a stretched 1.5, with the same height. Was this about the B-Series???
Also, what is the benefit to using longer/long handles?
I never saw it again.
Long handles have their greatest advantage when it comes to tricks, such as a back flip landing.
This is when you are diving down LE first, you flip the trailing tips forward and land with tips down and the back of the REV facing you. It works best in the sand, but is a bit rough on the REV. The trailing edge gets stretched by the lines and you can pop a rod.
Axels also work much easier.
On the down side, it is a bit more sensitive which takes getting use to. However, I find they are easier on the wrists.

Knowledge: The small part of ignorance that we arrange and classify.

Sounds an interesting development John. Certainly your comments all those months ago were pretty favorable. If we are not treading on the toes of any intellectual property, what did extending the leading edge (is this what you mean) do for the kites flying ability and roughly how much was it stretched by?
Rev skunkworks ... now there's a job

As I only flew it once, it is not that easy to say. It seems it flew not as radical as the REV 1.5. Of course that is over a year ago.Sounds an interesting development John. The length difference was around 10-15cm. The rods were an experimental material, probably like the Race rods.
I presume it was placed on ice because the JB was coming out very shortly.

Never had a chance to fly any of the experimental stuff, WAY COOL 'job' for sure!
Speaking of Prototypes... I have several!! OFFICIAL Neos Omega's! #4 and #6 of 22. Brand-spanking new! with original hardware.
Is anyone interested in a picture, or purchasing the 'real' thing? GREAT 20th anniversary present for yourself!
Email me if you are interested.

I had the opportunity to visit the Rev 'shoppe' recently and saw a few things on the wall that looked VERY interesting.. Prototype/type experiments but was sworn to secrecy!

I may be a 'tease', but I have the pics to back-it up!
Neat pics of the Neos Omegi there. What kind of rods were originally used???

Thin three-wrap type sticks, with metal inside the caps.
These Neos' also have dacron at the center versus kevlar, but Lolly included a kevlar 'v', in-case someone wanted to do some serious flying, versus a wall-hanger; as these are collector kites (which also fly).
I have a third Neos (#7 of 22), pink center with gray tips, which is 'mine', and I've flown it.
flies just like a Rev 1 (same size), but of course the Neos' were out before Revolution changed the names for 'top secret' reasons...
The Neos just looks WAY sweet!

A friend of mine lived in the San Diego area quite a few years ago and picked up this unusual Rev II from the office:
![]()
Looks like a non-rev revolution, ie a home-built, without the 'revolution' logo.
I've seen this often, people replace the sail with their own designs.
but it does look sweet! (with the applique sail, backlight).
