Y'know on the left of this message where it used to say 'rev guru' or 'rev trainee' etc under your username, it now only says 'occasional poster' 'frequent poster' etc . . . .is there a reason for this?? . . . . . i was looking forward to becoming a Rev Guru!!!!

Thanks

it's probably a side effect of updating the forum's software, knocking everything back to the default.

Nope, an intentional change...

Simply, I didn't like the idea that a knock-about flier could earn Rev Guru status with 3000 posts, while a pro Rev flier of 20 years might be a Rev Newbie simply because they don't post very often... The new rankings are more representative of the facts. ;)

I think, if you want something cool, you can personalize it. I messed around with this once and changed mine to Watty. I can't remember how I did it though.

*edit* I remembered! It's just in the profile information settings as "Custom Member Title." *edit*

Hrm... I'll have to watch that closely. :)

Good humor titles (like Watty's) and "tag lines" (like Laura's) are all good.

I'm an idiot............

I have searched high and low and gone back 10 times trying to figure out how to make the change and I can't find the correct link to do it. I went to "my controls" and to the profile info section section but didnt see anything about "custom member title"

No, it's probably still there ... it's just that those computer literate folks just don't play well with others.

Don't believe so. It is not in the profile information edit at all. And I have looked through the other settings.. Any Luck?

Nope ... looked through everything ... just slowly twisting in the wind ...

Maybe this is an IQ test ... kind of an "are you as smart as a 16 year old" ...

Okay, Watty, stop fooling around and share the location of the secret key with the rest of us ...

Not so cheers,
Tom

lol.. My guess is that John may have put a halt to that option, because it would mean a lot more monitoring on his part.. which I would understand if that is the case.
