Hi folks, just an FYI...

We'll be performing a necessary server upgrade (increase in capacity) in a little over a week from now, which will have both Revolution and Kitelife web sites offline for anywhere from 6-24 hours... In an attempt to create the least disruption, we'll do our best to implement this upgrade near midnight, between Dec 14-15 (Sun/Mon), being back online that Monday morning if all goes well.

Thanks for your patience. ;)

FYI, I was able to push the upgrade off until December 14th (2nd Sunday from now).

Better for the other sites hosted on our servers. ;)

Nothing that tricky Danny, the server itself is in a professional data center, fully managed.

Still takes time and process steps to get the job done though, hence the downtime. ;)

What, you want me to have all these nifty sites on a server that lives on a normal Internet connection and collects cat hair?

Let alone if there's any problem while I'm traveling... *shudder*

You know. ;)

nah, just to much corpie training style for me I guess. that and I hear it's better when you can fire the person who caused the crash vs change webspace providers

That's true, but I've been with this company for over four years now, and they've pulled my tail out of the fire countless times.

Never fails, tremendous staff, on a first name basis with the owner now.

Very rare for the web service industry, all of the above.

Alright folks, we're back online...

However, the server was restored from backups, which means some of the posts on Dec 14th didn't make it.

Terribly sorry, I expected the latest databases to be used, but my server staff goes off of the back ups. :P

Not that I would condone gossip but ... I heard the whole thing was just about liberating some server space for "someone's" wedding list database ..... just a rumour of course... ;)

Yes, because of the time difference I saw those as I was eating breakfast. I don't think I will be able to look at boiled eggs and toast the same way again. ;)
