Hi Ruud, it was good to fly with you and Linda back at Bristol. Hope Time Out & The Flying Squad get together again soon.

BTW My son Luca has been flying Revs on and mostly off for 10 years now. He was mainly dual lines until Summer this year when he really started flying Rev's. HE had done the throwing the rev 2 around a few times but nothing serious.

So anyway he has now started flying Rev's & he flys with Leo who is 12, and they flew Pairs this summer at the Brighton Festival having met at the festival!!!!!!

At Margate, I went off with my Daughter and came back to find The Flying Squad in the arena (zero wind off the houses - V tricky) and then I saw who was flying, yep you guessed LUCA !!! Stephen says they dont need me now, except to drive Luca to festivals. He's started doing team practice and is getting the idea really well.

my son Wen is 15 and this summer he started to compete in multi line.
He was mostly flying rev only when i set up the kite and almost ready to fly, he would show up
and say (with the very sweet expression, "mom can i fly it?"
then he would play.... till who knows when.

then only last year he flew rev when he is done flying dual line kites,
he would come over and take the rev for alternative flying.
He often told me that i should fly dual line as he would fly quad
"interchanging. with both, you would be a better flyer" (mutual enhancing effect)

yet, since this January, he got a special indoor rev from a special friend and we host indoor flight party and rev
has become part of his kitelife more then ever. This summer 2008, he started flying multi line comp.
(why not ! make the most out of our trips to all events) with Scottie coaching the group flying in Brenton point park and everywhere we go there will be mega fly, that get him really deep in.
and i think his score is better in quad now.

another teen flyer is michel dirk of WA (sorry if i miss spell )
he is a very cute/cool young one that you can see "the force is with him"
he flies both dual and quad with great devotion.

i am not sure he reads the forum, but i can't let it pass without counting him.
love, as if you have never been hurt before.....

And let's not forget Tristan Underwood! He placed 1st over all in all but one comp at Camas this year (Including Hot Tricks) at the age of 12.

I got acouple more kids interested in the Revolution from school. They came up to us and when they found out it was me and
my brother flying the revolutions, they started asking questions. They enjoyed it and all of them commented "I never could imagine
a kite doing that"

Daniel Hoath (The Flying Squad) here with his Mum. I'm not sure how old the photo is but I believe Daniel is now seven and he's quite the maestro with his Rev II.

Daniel is not yet six and has been flying his Rev II since he was three. Simon from the team has a son called Luca around 14 years old who flew team with us at Margate. I "accidentaly" broke all his kites and burnt his lines after that........It was for his own good! :kid_devlish:

he will be a teen someday, just like some of you so determined to get in the teen count with you all naughty means.

hey, mousie, good to know that your C is getting used to take the trophies that shines brighter then yours... hahaha, i know you are both happy, win-win !

ps:
one of the highlight of the AKA 2008, was to see so many teens and see them doing so well. an exciting scene for sure, right John B?

Not of course forgetting Wen who is a great flier of both quad and dual line kites. Did I see him flying team with Bell and Albert?

we've had pretty decent winds down here today(14 mph with gusts of 20 mph) and i ended up running into a few fliers my age, in their early teens who had cheap-o kites that couldnt fly in the wind...luckily i had my whole collection with me so i threw them up on an air-ram and watched them zip around and gave them some pointers and some sites i order from. They seemed very interested in the kiting world so we'll see what happens from here

Their names were Rob and Sam, add another 2 teens to the count
