Great place to fly! Right on the shore of beautiful Lake Michigan (Don't let that confuse you, we're in Wisconsin, it's a big lake).
Free everything, except the kites! (Grounds, parking, and winds)
Gift of Wings Kite Shop is on the grounds and the park is the site of several kite festivals throughout the year as well as kite flying nearly everyday the sun and winds will allow.
Every January 1st, noon to 5pm, we hold the Annual Cool Fool Kite Festival. Last year's 22nd annual, we flew at near zero degrees. With hundreds of Polar Bear Plunge paticipants (jumping in the ice cold lake waters), ice sculpturing, free hot chocolate, coffee, and snacks... I still wouldn't recommend it for you thin blooded west-coasters!
