I'll start you off.

... You glance at the compass in your vehicle and think it is displaying wind direction.

WHEN.....

You run into the back of the car that's stopped at the stop sign.. cause you are looking at the soccer field to see if it's available to fly in....

When you're sitting in the middle of class staring out the window at the trees moving in the wind, while trying to judge the wind speed, and what kite, line set, and frame you would use if you were able to be out there...... This is more exciting than paying attention to my teacher's lecture.

....... when your supposed to go grocery shopping and for some reason you end up at the beach without realizing you drove there :innocent:

....... when you walk outside and the second the wind goes by your ears you have already established what and where the kite your going to use is in the bag, even though you can't go fly. :kid_brooding:

....... when someone talks to you and its kinda like that cereal commercial where all you hear is "crunch crunch, what, crunch crunch, time, crunch crunch, are you, crunch crunch, going, crunch crunch, to the, crunch, beach, crunch, flying, crunch crunch crunch, revolution, crunch crunch, wind, crunch, 12 mph, crunch, day off, crunch crunch" :kid_devlish:

They get worse but I'm only letting you all into the slightest bit of my insanity :sign_kitelife:

When you click on your address bar on your computer, and the kite links go all the way to the bottom of your screen. :w00t:

When you make a favorites folder just to hold all the kite links, and you have them sorted by type of kite. (ie) Chinese kites, DLK, Parafoil, Revolution, kite clubs, kite clothes. :prop:

when you look into all different brand of trash bag in your hosts home
and humbly ask for permission to take one ---- because someone is making you an indoor kite and you need to explore all material that come across your journey.

when you start your day reading three kite forums and end your day the same way, and not to mention sometime in the middle of the day....

when you realize that you speak to your kites and kite relatives so much more then your blood family.

when there is no wind, you get excited to take out your windless kites and there is swirly wind, you would consider short line street flying to challenge yourself... and good wind, you just smile flying, or not .... ah, life is good.

finally the worst symptom nowadays.... sort like that you are deep in love....
when not a place you go by without triggering the inner dialog :
"humm, no wind, good space, big enough for XXX kite"
"humm, that's probably ok to fly till being told not to."
"humm, too many trees, not level enough to run without risking"
"humm, i wonder...."

if you are into kite flying, outdoor or windless, the situation gets worse.
because there is more and more potential combination of kites, line sets, and all crazy innovations to be tested....
my new dream is to fly in hospital /nursing home for people who can't move much physically, but their mind can be lifted and imagination can fly.
my next challenge is to go to the nursery school to fly for my little niece's gang in a small space that's normally a home made into a four room nursery school in the mountain.
love, as if you have never been hurt before.....

When....

you really believe there is no such thing as thinking of kiting too much.

you no longer consider ripstopitis a bad disease, but rather a much sought after condition.

Really now, come on, is there such a thing as thinking about kiting too much? One would have to be really sick to think that. Wouldn't one? :confused!:

Nahhh.......no such thing..........Trust me! ;)

.... when you assemble a complete wardrobe of clothes that are to be used solely for kite flying:

- Selection of t-shirts with humorous kite related slogans on.
- Sweat shirts and hoodies (To wear them when not kiting is inviting and ASBO)
- Cargo pants with lots, and I mean lots, of pockets for all those little things you need to carry when kite flying.
- Training shoes with soles that give good grip in sand as well as on wet grass.
- Water proof boots.
- light/medium and heavy weight jackets + breathable coat
- light weight water proof trousers + goretex salopets for really sour weather
- wicking socks, selection thereof
- etc

Does anyone know where I can buy some florescent lime green ripstop underpants with integral pockets for storing valuables?
Over - Jeremy

Fluorescent undies - either you [think you] are Superman to need them on the outside or you need the fluorescing version to see the contents of the pockets... Now they used to use radium for the latter (watches, clocks, etc.) but that probably has unfortunate consequences on the contents of said garments.... And nylon underpants *yuck, gross* - only reason to have these would be to bridle 'em up as a SLK. ...which brings me back to the topic under discussion.
