Could we have the dollar back to 2 to the pound, pretty please?
I guess I'll have to defer to those with more frequent flyer miles to spend, but please include a video camera operator in the core team so we can all watch the carnage fun. :kid_smartass:

If I could, I would, At least until you got your ticket and exchanged some currency.

Just went another penny in our favor, $1.59. If it keeps going in this direction, perhaps some of us can come your way.
Fly together! Share the joy, Share the fun

Here's what flying (only) 47 kites in a mega-fly looks like.
Pretty awesome, eh?

Thanks for the link Mike! I had not seen that one previously...

Awesome, for sure.

Seeing as the news appears to be leaking (me and my big gob!), I am planning on coming. I intend arriving the Monday before KP, having a day of retail therapy in LA to get myself over the jet lag, a jaunt up to the mountains to slide down the white stuff for a day or two, followed by a few days of intense kite/beer/doughnut treatment.

Most importantly I am very much looking forward to meeting some more of my virtual colleagues of the sky.

There are a few other people here who are also going to try and come out - right at the moment they are weighing up a few issues like money, other commitments and so on. But hopefully there should be a small group of limeys on the beach wearing khaki shorts, socks with sandles and knotted hankies on their heads ;)

Their 'grip' on the handles appears a bit odd!

Lots of brake indeed. And if you look at the way I am standing (the tall one second from the left) you will see I have my right leg forward, relaxed grip with right hand, body turned to the left and left hand low and pulled far back. The perfect positioning for a right facing float I think you will find.
The chap next to me in the middle is a newbie of course. You can tell by the way his "pulling" hand has risen to head level.

Nawww, Aerochic, you need to come to Kite Party to play and help set a new record!
Also, on Feb 28 of this year, the high was 66F with winds from 5 to 13. I bet that was a bit warmer than Philly.

For you inland fliers (like me) 5 mph winds coming off the ocean are sweeeet. Nothing like the swirly 5mph I get inland.

(I like going to http://www.wunderground.com to check historical weather. Enter the city at the top of the page and hit enter. Then scroll down. In the left column, under "History and Almanac" is a place where you can enter a historical date.)

I remember those nasty cold and wet winters in your area!
Yep, they need to stop over in Philly and pick you up and bring you to Southern California for some nice warm and sunny weather.
