I have gotten the first 12 stakes done this afternoon, they have turned out very nice. The rods are 304L .250 inch Stainless, 12 inches long with a blunt point. The rods and "cups" (made from 6061 T6 aluminum) are polished and almost look like chrome. I will be taking them to the kite festival at Whidbey Island tomorrow, Saturday, to see what people think of them and see if I can sell some. I am still waiting on shipping boxes, (on backorder) so I am as of yet unable to ship them out to anyone who buys them from me here. I also want to get a better color selection of marbles, the ones I received in an assortment were all dark colored. Here is some pics!

The sleeve [holster?) in the second picture is my own, I wish I could make more of those to go with the kite stakes, but I do not own a sewing machine. I hand sewed that one with needle and thread, took me several hours. The kite stakes I sell will be without a sleeve.

Actually I did, in PM. :blue_wink: I am asking $25 each, free USPS Priority shipping to CONUS. Not quite ready for orders, I need the special boxes I ordered to arrive so I am able to send them out. I will let everyone know!

I did some research on shipping to the UK, and it looks reasonable. I will need to ask for a partial shipping charge though. HERE is a chart for shipping rates. I would ask for $18 for shipping, plus the cost of the stake ($25) to ship Priority International. I hope this is acceptable for family in the UK!

If anyone else outside the states wants one, let me know, and I will calculate shipping and will let you know. Egad! I am just starting out with this business and I am all ready thinking GLOBAL! :kid_devlish:

The Whidbey Island event was wet, cold, nearly windless, but I still had fun. Everyone said that the kite stakes are really nice, I just hope they are not too nice. Sold 5 stakes, and I can say members of Island Quad and one member of iQuad are now owners of these stakes! (I wonder if I could use this.......) :kid_devlish:

Now I wait for them special boxes I ordered so I can ship them out to all who want one here......and get some up on the 'bay.

Thanx for the pics! I am absolutely blown away that something I made in my own shop is now on the other side of this ball of rock we all call home. That kite stake is not a stranger to kite festivals, I took it to Whidbey Island a few weeks ago....... :blue-cool:

I usually build my own but nothing of the quality of these. I see shipping a couple to canada in your future.

Here is a couple pictures of the kite stakes I am taking to Lincoln City. I have 29 stakes ready for the festival, and 8 more dedicated to current listings on Ebay!

100_0828.jpg 100_0829.jpg

BTW, I am going to reduce the price for kite stakes at the festival. Only way to find out what the new lower price is, is to meet me there.

Now, what should I do with the one I made with an old yellow golf ball?

I like to plant mine so it looks like a golf ball on the ground and watch people try to pick it up.

That usually leaves them an open target for messing with them with my kite
