Maybe I've missed it. Is the race rod framing officially out for the Rev 1?
Cheers

I have it for my 20th Anniversary and it is quite the different kite
as the wind picks up the leading end will flex into a geometric shape, but the kite seems to become more snappy
I wouldn't fly it in too much wind as the flex can be a little unnerving

As soon as I pick my Race Rods frame up, I'll give it a test and my impressions.I was surprised when I saw Race frame sets on sale for the Rev 1 and 2. So it's true then. Could anyone give some feedback on a race'ed Rev 1?
Thanks in advanced!
Cheers

I recently ordered a custom Rev 1 from Ben with the race rods as a special offer. The LE takes on a considerable bend since it has a larger sail to support. Flew it in almost next to nothing winds and I'm surprised at the amount of lift it generates. Its light wind ability is fantastic.
How the rods feel I can't say. I've been flying 1.5's for the longest time and the Rev 1 feels like a totally different animal for me and its something I'll need to learn again. I'm planning to get some 4 wraps for higher wind so as not to chance braking the race rods.

I already Did
Did I forget to mention that my 20th Anniversary is a Rev I??
I wanted a a True 20th Anniversary Rev, and since it was the 20th Anniversary of the Rev I (not the 1.5) I have a special one signed by the three, Joe, David, and Lolly. and it is framed in Race rods, Awesome Kite.
A lot snappier than the regular I, or the Sedgewick, but as I stated before as the wind picks up a little the leading edge gets a geometric shape to it that is a little unnerving.
flys great

Jim,
I'm sorry! I thought you were referring to the 1.5 20th anni version!
I've got a Sedgewick with 4 and 2 wraps. I'm guessin with the Race, it'd be close to a 3wrap but more snappy and lighter. Something that I've been missing with the 1. Having seen John's SS Great Britain video, I guess a Race'ed Rev 1 would be suitable for that type of street kiting too?

Darryl,
Nice! Have you got a pic to share of your custom? Hoho...when the wind picks up, the Rev 1 gonna pull like a truck
Cheers to all

Cheers to all

Lee Sedgewick panel layout with custom colours..I've recently been in a black/grey/white phase for kite colours..Looks prety simple but love the way it contrasts in the sky, especially if the sun's behind the kite
