Maybe I've missed it. Is the race rod framing officially out for the Rev 1?

i would the race rods would be to flexable for the 1 .. i dont know just a guess.. i would like another race for my rev 2 however.. it is really a setup for that kite

I would bet it has a third wrap for the REV I.

Race Rods are stiffer then a 2 wrap and they use 2 wraps in the Rev 1 so why not, The Race probably keeps that noodle feeling out for better control especially with the snap back responce it's famous for.

The Race Frame works in the Rev I

I have it for my 20th Anniversary and it is quite the different kite

as the wind picks up the leading end will flex into a geometric shape, but the kite seems to become more snappy

I wouldn't fly it in too much wind as the flex can be a little unnerving

I was surprised when I saw Race frame sets on sale for the Rev 1 and 2. So it's true then. Could anyone give some feedback on a race'ed Rev 1?

As soon as I pick my Race Rods frame up, I'll give it a test and my impressions.
I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Hey Clin,

I recently ordered a custom Rev 1 from Ben with the race rods as a special offer. The LE takes on a considerable bend since it has a larger sail to support. Flew it in almost next to nothing winds and I'm surprised at the amount of lift it generates. Its light wind ability is fantastic.

How the rods feel I can't say. I've been flying 1.5's for the longest time and the Rev 1 feels like a totally different animal for me and its something I'll need to learn again. I'm planning to get some 4 wraps for higher wind so as not to chance braking the race rods.

I'm sorry! I thought you were referring to the 1.5 20th anni version! So you had a same sail design made for a Rev 1? Must be cool!

I've got a Sedgewick with 4 and 2 wraps. I'm guessin with the Race, it'd be close to a 3wrap but more snappy and lighter. Something that I've been missing with the 1. Having seen John's SS Great Britain video, I guess a Race'ed Rev 1 would be suitable for that type of street kiting too?

Nice! Have you got a pic to share of your custom? Hoho...when the wind picks up, the Rev 1 gonna pull like a truck . Yup, the 1's a different animal. I much prefer mine in light winds with the 2wraps in.

Lee Sedgewick panel layout with custom colours..I've recently been in a black/grey/white phase for kite colours..Looks prety simple but love the way it contrasts in the sky, especially if the sun's behind the kite
