That was just a little too much....One of his verticals snapped into 2 pieces.
No sail-damage.
Seven days without flying a Rev makes one weak.

However, I tested them for ruggedness. One way was by hitting the ground hard at angles. That will pop rods. I didn't pop a rod and still have and use the "original" five rods.
So, I think they will hold up quite well in strong winds.
What I am doubtful about is how comfortable they might be to use in strong winds. What I mean is that I predict they will bow much more then the 4 wrap rod thus I predict the sail will cup more causing the REV to pull more.
Now if you have a full vented REV those strong winds would not be of any problem. So for worst case flying in Hurricane Force I or higher, that could be a different situation.

Thanks for the input!
Was wondering if they'd be the rods of choice for the Extra-vent?
Guess I'll just have to get one along with the greenies and try 'er out! ...Christmas in November?

No, it wasn't me John.
The victim was another Dutch pilot.
It went well for 15 minutes but the wind was too gusty.

Reviving this thread before i create another one.
Can someone help on an info i am looking for.
Is the 7/16" SLE of the Supersonic and the Rev 1.5SLE same?
Seeing the same LE length and dimensions, i would like to know if i can take the SLE from a supersonic and get it in a Rev 1.5SLE.
Thanks for any input.

It seems to me the rods have a slight difference in length. Otherwise they are the same.

Yes, the Supersonic and Rev 1.5 rods are different lengths. I'm not sure how much of a difference it is, but I think the Supersonic rods are a bit shorter, so if you really wanted to, you could cut down the Rev 1.5 SLE rod to match the other Supersonic rods.

As from info i received form others, it is just about 1" longer on the 1.5 so 1/2" both side on the Supersonic which is not a big deal. And from what i learned, it is the center one that is longer on the 1.5 so the end shafts are same on both models.
