Hi John, sounds good.

Couple of questions.

I downloaded the Rev B DVD and made that work OK. Took a few trys though.

The DVD I had come through with my Blast will not run on my player or PC here.

First question Will your DVD work OK in the UK?
Second Question Do we have to wait till Portsmouth or is there a quicker way the UK can get it?

The Rev B DVD files were just a bloody large download, I think that was the primary issue eh?

On the Blast, I have no info at all about those (sorry), they're produced elsewhere, Rev would know best.

==

As for our iQuad DVDs, we authored them ourselves, had them manufactured on the East Coast and tested this end product thoroughly.

They've tested alright on my American DVD player, a Japanese MACBOOK, and my American Windows XP system (both PC and lap top).

But in theory, I think someone could "rip" the DVD into their computer using video software and view it locally, or re-burn it to DVD for their own use.

Sorry mate, without a UK machine to test this on, I couldn't say for sure.

==

Now, as for shipping overseas... Foreign buyers only, we will accept $25 USD via PayPal (includes postage and packaging).

Please be aware, we cannot guarantee that the DVD will play on non-US machines... But I'm sure feedback will be posted here in short order.

Just did a little research on the USPS web site... USPS money order is fine, as long as it's made out to me personally.

Sorry John, was not trying to ask you about the Blast DVD, was giving it as an example of a US DVD not wanting to work in the UK.

My mind is still trying to recover from flying yesterday in winds as strong if not stronger than last time I met you in Blackheath. Just HAD to be done though. And the Vented B just said, go on, give me some WIND to fly in!! So please excuse me if I am not too good with my typing!!

I have been waiting for the DVD and hoped it would be ready to go with Theresa's last parcel to me but it missed it by a few weeks.

I do want one, might wait and see if anyone else this side of the pond is brave enough to try it first though. I am not clever enough with a PC to sort the potential conflict out.

Sorry mate, without a UK machine to test this on, I couldn't say for sure.

OK, from Geeks corner the following: Most DVD players are 'regionalised' - USA is region 1, UK is Region 2, I think Japan is often Region1, or multi region (can read all regions) - I think there are other regions out there such as SE Asia etc.

Now, if I own a Region 2 DVD player in the UK, and the DVD has been authoured as Region 1, then I won't be able to play it. Most Authouring is regionalised, which means a Region 1 DVD won't play in region 2.

Most PC DVD players are multi region. They 'decide' what region they will be by the first disc that is put in, and ask the user 'Do you want me to be Region 1' etc. If you then put in another regions DVD, it the user will get prompted if they want to change region. Typically you can do this 5 times, and then it sticks with the last region selected.

There are various bits of hack software that will allow you to read differnt region disc, but this is usually naughty and illegal, so I wouldn't know anything about that ;)

So most likely, unless you have a multi-region DVD player (it usually says so on a pretty label on the front), in the UK, you'll won't be able to play a Region 1 DVD.

That said, the B-Series DVD that came with the kites works fine in the UK, so is likely to be Multi-region. Maybe this one will be the same?

As Big Bri likes to say "You pays your money, you takes your choice" ;)

1st UK victim to get one of these, let us all know and if it works, we'll all sign up. If it doesn't, I may know someone who will start a whip around to buy a new DVD player :kid_devlish: (LOL ROTFC)

B sure to let us all know how it plays Ant. If it is OK on a UK player I am sure it will spark a rush of sales. I know I will be in the Q.

The Rev Blast DVD I have did not want to play in any of my 3 PC's. Might give it another try after Choccy's guidance.

No ...I have checked 3 different Rev DVD's and they are all ok ..... cant believe any of them would be encoded in anything other then 'all regions' .....

You drive a hard bargain but if you include a set of Force-3 trading cards (My favourite Rev Team) I'll order now otherwise I assume you guys will be bringing a stack to Portsmouth/Bristol?

Well again, I produced the B-Series DVD using the same software as I did for our new iQuad DVDs. ;)

As for the trading cards, no Force-3, sorry... But yes, we'll have a stack with us on our UK trip. ;)

I think Baloo is recognising the power of female intuition - you mentally transmitted the means to play US DVDs in the UK :) I "sensed them too".

Nah, it's just a few people have seen us doing our Rev1.5/Rev2 stack. Looking from the right direction it looks liek we have 4 arms and 8 lines on a really odd looking kite :D
