The vented model is okay on the beach, but near useless if you live inland.
It's a great kite here in the Midwest! And I'm waaay further from the beach than you are!
Out here in the prairies I fly the SUL in light winds and then switch to the Vented with SUL spars and then the Vented with the heavy-duty spars as the wind goes over 20mph.

I've flown it so far with standard 4-wrap, standard 3-wrap, and hybrid 3/2-wrap so far. By the time I feel the wind is too light for it, it is light enough for my standard sail with 2-wrap frame.

For winds in the 3 to 8mph I prefer to fly my Sedgewich Rev 1 with standard 4 wrap frame.
My new Rev 1.5 all cloth hardly gets flown.

That is one VERY nice looking kite. Where can I get one? Hehehe. Oh wait, I've spent all of my kite money on.....well.....kites, and driving to place to fly kites. Grrrr,....maybe next year I can afford some more :-)
Happy flying to everybody. Now get off the computer and get a kite out! hehe
