Simon, you 'wear' your modesty well :kid_devlish:
The Malaysian t-shirt should have been a bit of a give away ;)

What a charmed life you've experienced.

Funny part was I thought I had pulled the Guadeloupe shirt out!!! Doh!!

I collect the shirts I have a few classics, I'm hoping to bring out at Portsmouth and Bristol

Oh and BTW apparently we are all wearing "1980's era cloths for both events, so any Yanks reading just bring period cloths only.

While in the Kite Shop booth at Treasure Island a lady came to the booth and said "I'd like to buy that large scuba man" ( she was talking about Larger Than Life's huge scuba guy)

My answer "I'm sure Dennis would sell it to you for about $4500.00 if you ask him"

Her answer " I thought it was about $30.00"

My answer ... laughed so hard I couldn't answer...

'Does your husband fly kites as well?'

Not sure what he was inferring ??? :confused!:

I wouldn't worry about it - he was just asking you if I fly as`well I expect.

ditto (now) + lack of sleep  :dizzy:

I am sure the memory loss and confusion comes from Sailors side of the family ... ;)

Had a useful comment in reverse last night ..... I was flying at my 'alternative' field for breeze in the North days... which is fairly enclosed by trees in most other directions.... I had just enjoyed the maiden flight of my Supersonic Vented.. slightly under range but 'proof of concept' enough for me! ...when a couple came and started setting up a large flexifoil of some description (sorry first kite I ever bought was a Rev ... in February ...so my general kite knowedge is sparse) .... and was obviously planning on teaching his wife how to fly it .... I hooked up my vented B and proceeded to move up-field a little out of their way, as I passed them I asked if they wanted a hand launching or anything ..... He said ....

"No thanks these things are so much easier to handle and fly then that thing (pointing at my 'B') "

With that he launched ... and flew at full pace horizontally into a tree !! ...

An hour later when I left he still had 2 young lads up the tree, his wife laughing at him and a long night ahead.... I politely said goodnight and headed home trying not to look smug or amused ... after all that will probably be me tomorrow!

LOL - that's the best! I learnt some time back not to say something is easy (even if it is) for that very same reason, you're setting yourself up for failure!

Keep em coming folks - this is fun!

Simon, wearing 1980s clothing cos of the 20th anniversary seems like a logical idea.. not that hard to find when it's in fashion ATM
Are you going for the neon look ? :kid_smartass:

Maybe I should wear my "funsize" silk Cheongsam instead (celebrations sake)

Just thrifty... things didn't fall apart so readily like they do post Millennium.
I'm fortunate to still have good 1980s clothing that still fits

Sorry, being a bit of a fashion icon there is no way I can be seen out in retro kit. One has standards you know.

but but it is the 80s second time around at the moment Sailor ;)

You're still secretly pinning after the 1970s (hippy hairdos)

I'm still searching for the ace pair of skinny jeans that fit like they did back in the 80s though. :pinch:

Standards: I bet you iron your bed sheets

I wouldn't get your hopes up Simon. I asked her for a cuppa over a week ago and I am still waiting.........

And no, Choccy, the 80's are not in - all that sharp suits, "Oh yah's" and That awful Mrs T are so last century. And no I don't iron my sheets. We have a lady who does, but she does of course iron my silk keckx.

So glad the 80's aren't back in I cant imagine how long it would take me to blow dry my feather cut every morning..... will stick with the short back, front, sides and top ;)

Doesn't mean you shouldn't wear the Cheongsam though Choc!

Hello fellow rev peeps...
These short stories are great.
Here's two for you.
The day that the old lady called the cops on me for flying too close, I had tried to explain to here how I can control the kite and even tried showing her slides, clockwork, hovering, etc. She told me emphatically, "You're not controlling anything, the wind is!"

I had just started the afternoon flying SLK's in the same area that I'd been flying for a few years; (this happened last Sept) while the kite was ascending nicely, a guy watching me told me that I was flying the kite in the wrong direction  ...as he pointed in the opposite direction of how the kite was actually flying! He was dead serious.
