Trying to work some things out so I can get down there.

Laura, Question tho..........that beach seems pretty small and narrow. Where would you plan on having a bunch of Revs fly on that beach whether it be on 120s or shorter??????

Mostly, I use 85' lines. There is another beach about 10 minutes down the road, it's a bigger space...it does cost to park there (not much, about $5.00, I think) and since I've never flown on it, I can't tell you how the winds are... for sure. I'm pretty sure it would be good, except if the winds are out of the west. It's like Seaside; if you've ever been there, you have to go over a dune? if that's what it's called and then down. Since it's down and on the other side of this dune thing, the winds will be blocked.... at least that's my take on it. Again, that's only winds out of the west.

Union Beach isn't a problem; I fly there all of the time. I don't think the winds will be out of the due west, so, we'll be flying on an angle to the water or parallel, most likely. If we're there first, and I will be, people can see the space we're flying in and set up where they want accordingly.

Please let me know your intentions. I would rather set up and know we're going to fly there, than set up and have to pack up... not to mention that I don't know how crowded and how early the other beach would get crowded. Of course, we need to advise everyone coming of the plans, of course...

We're getting together durning the week, sometime after July 4th.

The weather is not looking good today... Check out the radar... looks like storms (most likely; running into the humidity) and rain is about 2-3 hours away.... call me....I don't know what you guys want to do...

]Hello FRP's...

Today was a nice day to fly. Although it started out very light, I was able to fly my 1.5 SUL 40' x 50# lines, with no problem :kid_devlish: and the guys had ther B's standards up. The forecasters got something right, finally, when they advised that around noon the winds would pick up and they did. There was a round of storms that Rich and I waited out and then got to fly for another couple hours or so after that...the kelp was unlike anything I've ever seen down there! OMG... you can actually see piles of it in the photos... All in all, I'd say this day stacked up quite well.
We'll have to do it again when everyone can make it...
Thanks for a nice day, guys...
Ps. At least my Rev made the photo ;)

The sticks are a northeast thing ,with a slow southernly flow coming from the north. :matrix:

Nice pics laura.....

Is the water ok to swim in there.
Reminds me of the red tide.

People were swimming there and always have. I've never seen the kelp like that. Even a few days before, it wasn't that bad. Be careful, it's slippery when wet :kid_smartass: .... Steve can tell you more....
