Man o man, I am so bummed. <_< :censored: :blue_mad: :kid_cussing: :kid_annoyed: :ani_wallbash: :big_blowup: :badmood:
I was totally psyched to get together with everyone. Was thinking that the weather might just be iffy and if nothing else it may drizzle or spit or whatever.

Next week sounds good Laura, lets go for it! Maybe the Maryland folks will come too!

If its definitely a no go at Laura's, I'm still gonna head out to Liberty state park unless it's absolutely pouring. Any takers from North Jersey???? Rawveeda looks to be in, along with rc-dude.

The chance of rain alone wasn't the issue, they're calling for storms on and off all day, some severe. You all have my phone #, call me in the a.m. if things don't look as forecast...wouldn't be the first time. I'd be happy to fly and still plan for next Sunday, too! To me, the radar doesn't look like it'll be so bad tomorrow, unless it fills in big time from now 'til the a.m. Unfortunately, the meteorologists are supposed to be the experts that we rely on and the chance of all those volts flying with us :kid_smartass: makes us have to err on the side of caution. Safety first.

Guess what I learned today? Never cancel a planned anything due to the forecast. What a beautiful day it turned out to be. Drew showed up about one ish.... we got in four good hours. A few wind changes and a seaweed/kelp/green stuff (not from the nose :P lol) wrap for Drew made for a little excitement to our fly. His dive stop in the drink wound up bringing up and entire LE of seaweed (kelp, actually, I think):kid_devlish: . It took a little while to get it all off and he was back in action. Good stuff Drew! Too bad I didn't have my camera with me... that was definitely a Kodak moment!
We will try again next week.

Steve (Rawveeda) and I got in a solid 2 hrs in this morning at Liberty State Park before we packed it in due to rain.
The rest of the day here was subject to rain and thunder storms.

Looks like everywhere south had a great day. Good for all of you...............frustration up here for us.

Laura.......Next Sunday??????????????????????

Was a great day here in South Eastern Massachusetts, had 20-25 mph winds from the SW my 2 sons and I flew from about noon till 8 pm sunny with very scattered clouds and a actual drop now and then.

Goes to show you just never know, I see others on the east coast had a great time as well too bad we are close to 400 miles apart we could muster up a force to be reckoned with.

Well, no flying for me. I got a couple hours of wood splitting in, then an hour or so of lawn mowing. After that a run to the wholesale club and chicken wings on the smoker.

The rain didn't hit here until after dark...

Yeah, I'm totally PO'ed. I could have came out and flew for a few hours before work. Stupid weather men. No other job could you be THAT wrong and actually make a living out of it. You would think that with all this technology.....GEESH! Anyway, who's flying next weekend? I think I'll come up for like 2 hours of flying before work. THen who's doing Wildwood on the 12th of July?

So frustrated after yesterday. I did get a couple hours of fly time but the inconsistency of the weather for the rest of the day really pissed me off :censored: :kid_cussing: :badmood: . Especially since I live inland with no great areas to go out and fly between thunderstorms.

Anyway, if laura is game to try again on Saturday or Sunday, I'm in.

There was totally at least 5 pounds of frikin seaweed, kelp - whatever - on my kite when I finally dragged it out of the water. It took me at least 15 minutes to get it all (mostly) off. No more dive-stops at that beach! Although tip dips are safe, and dragging the tip along the water didn't snag anything either.

Next Sunday sounds good...
