I'll be there! I think Greg said he would be also.

What a difference from last year at Wildwood. The megafly consisted of the following:

JB
Steve
Todd
Monks
Chris
Greg
Antman
Alden

So, we went from eight to 33 in one year!!!!!

Isn't that AMAZING, Alden?! I was thinking about that over the weekend as well. :ani_punk:

Hopefully I'll be one more Rev in the mix for the next one.

I have printed out the hi-res image that drachenman posted on flickr of the brief moment that the 36 fliers were together at Uchinada. I am in shot as I was trying to get the last six fliers to move into line on the ground.

http://www.flickr.co...hen/2471079784/

I was confident that once fliers had seen a practical demonstration they would be prepared to take the project forwards. I am delighted that the fliers at Wildwood have responded with such enthusiasm!!!

Thanks to you all.

Some photos of grid.
http://www.flickr.co...57605296628049/ by aerovision on flicker. Some shots of formation forming and people on ground.
Needs a little more spacing than originally thought. Although once in lines we didn't try to close up!
Forming from a flying line was really very easy. Some could move back and some forward. Very fast set up.

So were you staggered in the grid the whole time to give you room to move forwards and backwards as needed ?
For example, no one strictly in front of a group of people ?

I wonder how close the lines of fliers could be? In a good breeze I would have thought that spacing on the ground could reflect spacing in the sky. Obviously low groundwork is not immediately practical.... however if a protocol was established of say, landing to the left of the flier in front, then maybe something could be developed.

(Suppose the front line set up a ground sculpture, the next line moved forwards and took up the gaps and then.... <grins>)

I would be interested in seeing images from Grand Haven.

Felix
