Anyone "flying solo" in the Woods and looking to cut down on room expenses? Count me in, please. I'd prefer to spend the extra cash on a new Rev or some other goodies.

So far it looks neck and neck between fuel costs and room for 4 days being about equal, that could buy quite a few kites.
We'll see.

I took the time off to go this year but the way the gas prices are going it looks like I may not attend after all.

You're right...but what a time it will be to fly with the gang, meet everyone, ...and the laughs... if the Rev Clinic is a preview...watch out!

My biggest expense is that I am paying for a rental car, fuel, food, and extra$$ for my sister to drive down from NYC to take care of my dogs for the long weekend so that my wife can attend with me.
I forget what Diesel cost last year but even if it was $2.00/gallon less I would be looking at a $60 increase in costs.
Now, if FortFlyer shares a hotel room with Love2Fly (check with Paul D. to see if she snores). that would save enough to pay the fuel increase for the trip.
I am looking forward to going and having a great time flying with my friends (and that does include Antman)!

I budgeted for $5.00/gallon for Diesel @ 13mpg (towing a 31' trailer cuts down on mpg). Even so it's cheaper for me to tow the trailer up than to rent a hotel room.

Hi Alden
...and wouldn't you like to know
Seriously, I thought about going to Virginia Beach this weekend, 725 miles, roughly, each way...it would be over $200 in gas...Unfortunately, the bigger obstacle is my back and sitting that long...maybe next year...
See you in Wildwood.

Would be near $10 per gallon to you.
In my car that journey would cost around £250 or abour $500.
Oh well, our roads are better than yours, no on second thoughts they are not.
One thing about fuel, if you need / want to make the journey, you got to pay for it.
I tried to post this a while ago but my lovely Wife kicked me off the PC.
You wouldnt catch me in a little, economical Japanese car. Got too many Land Rovers to choose from.

Guys if you think fuel is an issue in the US it is almost £5 per imperial gallon here, that is 8 pints in case the measurements are different.

I guess my 6'2" 250# body looks pretty funny to some people as I climb in and out of the Mini but I love the 32.5 mpg it is giving me going back and forth to work!

I would never subject anyone to my earth shattering snoring, apparently from what I hear the only suitable roomie would be fellow wall banger Weider
Well we'll see what happens.
